Mary has arrived!

We welcomed Marion "Mary" Kathleen Werner on Sunday, November 29, 2009! She weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21.5" long.

Our due date was December 12, so we weren't sure it was real labor when I started having inconsistent contractions around 4:30pm on Saturday. By 8pm, after yelling at Mike for eating his apple too loudly, I was sure it was the real thing. Grandmom and Grandpop came to our house at 11pm to spend the night with Michael, we arrived at the hospital at 11:30pm, and Mary was born at 2:36am. Mike and I were surprised and thrilled when the doctor announced, "It's a girl!" Little brother Michael wasn't allowed to visit in the hospital due to the flu season, but was happy to spend a couple days getting showered with attention from Oma and Opa. So far, he has tried to share her paci and bottle, play catch with her, and fix the bow in her hair. We're tired, but we're enjoying watching Mary and Michael grow each day!

Fall 2009

It has been a busy fall between Michael's 1st birthday, remodeling, business trips, apple picking and Oktoberfest. Our next project is getting Michael's new room ready for him to move into before the new baby's scheduled arrival on December 12th. We've got 10 weeks to go until we learn if Michael will have a little brother or sister!

Michael's 1st birthday party.

Oktoberfest at Liederkranz German Club in Reading, PA with Uncle Sean, Donna, Uncle Kevin and Ashley. Also, Apple Picking with the Nascimento's and McCann's at Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA.

1st camping trip

Christa, Nate, and almost 1 year old Dylan joined us camping in NY. I'm not so sure we can really call this camping since we stayed in a cottage with 1.5 baths and full kitchen. We did go hiking, saw a big skunk, got stuck in a downpour, went swimming, and made smores! Michael had his 1st cold, which didn't hold him back at all. I think we'll be holding off on tenting for a couple more years.....

Nova reunion and French bbq

We made new friends at Dave's mom's house in Doylestown during an afternoon bbq. Michael loved the bubbles and as always it was good to visit with teh newleyweds, Brianna and Dave.

Mike had his 10 year reunion at Villanova. There were allot of babies. The wildcat is no match for Michael!

Weddings in April and May

It was a busy spring for weddings. Heather and Neil were married in Palm Springs in April, Dave and Brianna in Sedona the beginning of May, and Patricia and Paul in mid-May.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was filled with lots of visiting with wonderful friends. We got to bbq twice, play with Deanna and Wil's adorable Golden Retriever puppy Sydney, and see our good little friends Ava and Sammy at Jude and Betty's. What a great way to start the summer!

Visiting with Friends and Family

It's been awhile, so I guess that proves everyone told me about time flying even faster when you have kids. Michael has grown allot - especially since he loves to eat and isn't crawling yet!

In March, we all celebrated Sam's babtism - especially dad who is Sammy's Godfather.

Oma came from Florida to visit and we also spent some time with Grandmom playing with our new camera.

I'm 5 months and talking is so much fun

It seems like the new experiences with Michael are non stop:
There is a new facial expression every day
(furrowing his brows in annoyance being one of the more entertaining ones
along with his first taste of peas),
sound (did he really just say "da da"?),
or favorite activity (literally putting his foot in his mouth -
unlikes dad's more figurative use of the idiom)

We're feeding him cereal and veggies now, which he devours. As soon as he sees the spoon coming he opens his mouth like a baby bird, although we end up with as much food on his bib as in his belly! Somehow his sitter, Miss Debbie feeds him with only a little smudge on his bib.

We got a jolly jumper, which he's only spinning around in. He finds the exer-saucer much more fun and stands up in it on his legs that are starting to get a little rolly polly. He is going to be crawling before we know it since he's already squirming forward on his belly after rolling over.

He's also developed a keen interest in Bruiser and Bruiser in him. Hopefully, this brotherhood will continue to bloom as they grow up together! Michael has tested Bruiser with a couple ear pulls - so far, so good.

Snow day!

We had a snow day in January - although if we were in Albany it would have been considered a mere dusting.

Happy New Year

Mom's friend Jessie did my first photo shoot (Casey Connell photography).
Pretty cute if I say so myself!

Looking fashionable at Uncle Sean's Christmas party.

Finally some friends my own age! We got to meet Mason, Johanna's nephew who is 4 days younger than Michael and Dylan, Christa and Nate's 6 month old son.

Opening presents!
